Privacy Policy
CryptoCalk is a calculator-first website. Most computations are performed directly in your browser. We are committed to minimising data collection and explaining clearly what is stored on your device.
1. What We Collect
We do not require account registration and we do not ask for personal identity data to use calculators.
- No signup forms and no profile creation.
- No wallet connection required for basic calculator usage.
- No KYC data collection through CryptoCalk calculators.
2. Browser Storage
To improve performance and user experience, CryptoCalk uses limited browser storage:
- `localStorage`: theme preference (`light` or `dark`).
- `sessionStorage`: short-lived cached market data from CoinGecko API responses.
You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings.
3. Third-Party Data Providers
Some calculators use live market prices sourced from CoinGecko API. Requests are made from your browser to their endpoints. Please review CoinGecko's policy for their own data handling terms.
4. Cookies and Analytics
CryptoCalk uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects standard internet log information and visitor behaviour patterns anonymously. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Advertising
CryptoCalk may display advertisements served by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising network operated by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
These advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity. You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site, please visit How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
When you first visit CryptoCalk, a cookie consent banner will ask for your preference. If you decline non-essential cookies, no advertising or analytics cookies will be set. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.
5a. Advertising in the Android app
The CryptoCalk Android app does not use Google AdSense. It serves ads throughGoogle AdMob (a banner and an occasional interstitial), which is a separate product with a different data model from the website's ads. The website's cookie banner does not apply to it.
For ad serving, measurement and fraud prevention, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google your device's advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), your interactions with the ads shown, and diagnostic information about the app and the SDK. Google's own description of what the SDK collects is published in itsPlay data disclosure. The numbers you type into a calculator are never part of this: they stay on your device and are not sent anywhere, in the app or on the website.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before requesting any ad, using Google's User Messaging Platform. If you decline, ads are limited to non-personalised ones or are not shown at all. You can change your choice at any time from the Ad privacy settings button at the bottom of any screen in the app.
Anywhere in the world you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in Android underSettings → Privacy → Ads, which also lets you opt out of personalised advertising for every app on the device. Google's partner policyand advertising policies describe how it uses this data.
The iOS app shows no ads at all and does not initialise any advertising SDK.
6. Data Retention and Security
Because most operations are client-side, retained data is primarily what your browser stores locally. Server-level logs may exist for operational security and uptime management, and are handled under standard hosting retention windows.
7. Children's Privacy
CryptoCalk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
8. Financial Disclaimer
CryptoCalk provides educational tools and scenario calculators. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or tax advice.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data held about you. Since CryptoCalk does not maintain user accounts or personal databases, most calculator data exists only in your browser's local storage. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
European Economic Area (GDPR): If you are located in the EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because CryptoCalk does not collect or store personal data beyond anonymous analytics, these rights are largely satisfied by default.
California (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. CryptoCalk does not sell or share personal information. For any data-related requests, contact us using the details in Section 11.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
